I can add to this as an ex biochemist. Soys and certain beans do carry a toxin hence they make you fart.
However, the toxic is killed off on cooking – thats why you do not eat raw beans.
The chinese have been eating soya based products (tofu etc) for thousands of years and there are still more chinese than any other race.

They are now asking silly money for 2009.
In fact when 2005 came out, I thought that they were over priced.
To get round the problem, buy wine at an older vintage. Two advantages, they are cheaper and they are ready for drinking. For example the 89 Latour (Tanners) is approximately half the price of 2009.
The top vintages are: 2005, 2000, 1996, 1990, 1982.
The next best (in some cases just as good) are: 2001, 1995, 1988, 1986.
